Dr. John Faison is a seasoned leadership coach, mentor, and the Senior Pastor of Watson Grove Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. With over 20 years of experience in ministry, leadership development, and organizational growth, John is committed to helping leaders at all levels break through barriers and unlock their full potential. His work spans across faith-based initiatives, business leadership, and community development, with a focus on creating lasting, impactful change.
Under Dr. John’s leadership, Watson Grove Baptist Church has experienced remarkable growth, both spiritually and numerically. The church’s innovative approach has made it a beacon of hope and a resource for transformation in Nashville and beyond. Known for his authenticity, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to faith-driven leadership, John has guided thousands of leaders and organizations toward success through his coaching, consulting, and speaking engagements.

An Army veteran and seminary professor, Dr. John brings a wealth of experience in leadership and mentoring. He has served as a doctoral mentor at both Payne Theological Seminary and New York Theological Seminary, currently holding a faculty position at United Theological Seminary. His impact reaches far beyond the pulpit, where he also serves on the boards of several organizations, including Leadership Nashville and Belmont University.
Through his leadership coaching, Dr. John’s goal is simple: to empower leaders to lead with clarity, purpose, and confidence. Dr. John Faison is married to Dr. Maya M. Faison (Bugg). He is the proud father of three biological children (John, Jr., Ajah, Jaden), and three bonus daughters (Adderley, Ellington, & Morgan).
